Fighting the Monday Morning Blues

May 25, 2020 by admin_lbc36

Just another Monday” or a Great day

Do you ever get the Monday blues? Often how we start our day will determine how the rest of our day will go. This can be a important to remember as we start the week. Mondays are notorious for being viewed negatively as we head to work, school and less play after the weekend. What if this Monday was different? What if Mondays were days to look forward to instead? Let’s see if changing the way we start the day changes the way we feel.

How we wake up impacts our mood:

,

This morning I woke up to raining, which could have led to sadness or feeling what a horrible Monday,

it was going to be. Instead I marveled at the way the rain sounded soothing on the roof and the sound as it hit the ground. The rhythm of rain can be soothing and restorative at times.

There was to be a song on the radio “Just another Monday”. It often was played on Monday morning as most of us

were dreading going to work or school. What if Mondays could be extraordinary days filling will new adventures, fun or gratitude for the weekend rather than dread? Would your world be different? Would you go about the day differently?

Be aware of negativity:

Today be aware of negativity! What we focus on gets expanded, attention, grows and influence us and those around. Instead be grateful for someone or something, give thanks for another day to breath, the flowers around you or time with ones you love. Instead nurture positive thoughts

Acknowledge feelings:

Its natural to feel sadness towards loss and grieve, loss of a loved one, or someone mistreating you but do not allow it to consume you. Acknowledge your feelings without allowing them to take over. Negativity can turn grieve, sadness into hopelessness, misery, and a life of feeling depressed. Change negative thoughts to positives. What are you grateful for today?
